My friend had lent me a comic on the bosnian war called Safe Area Gorazde. It describes the plight of the people of Gorazde (a place in Bosnia) as they are a tiny population surrounded by people who want to kill them. Like literally surrounded. Ans the pwople who want to kill them used to be their neighbous. It is a realistic and well written comic,but my habit of reading things till the middle and then forgetting about it persisted here too. I was going to give my friends the book back but he refused to take it without me finishing it. And he gave me two more books to read.

Season finale(season one) of Dexter tonight at 10  ! I am aware of the fact that the season one had ended long back(probably years back) but I came to know of the series in febuary February. Creepy and intriguing with way too much blood involved.Watched the episodes on and off whenever I could catch them but watched enough to understand the story and to know that I like it. American Television is the best,just brilliant. Meanwhile I have been reading The Zahir by Paulo Coelho-done with 170 pages. He should get his hair colored violet. I haven't read many books. The only reason I read his books are because they are famous.It's not something I would randomly pick. Never Listen to Yourself

Phase 1  'Listen to your heart' is a popular phrase. Used by musicians, teenage girls and start-up businessmen. It is actually an unfinished phrase. The full version of it would be 'Listen to your heart, if you want to perish.' Our heart tells us things like 'sure, it's okay to have a fourth round of roadside paani puri, and no,that dress is not too expensive.' And a little more scary things like 'Yes, you should feel righteous about killing that guy' and 'we will go to any length to protect our way of living.' Its not that the heart shouldn't be trusted. Wait, no its exactly that. I have no scientific backing and only the unwilling social experiment of my own life to fall back on when I say, our mind makes us do stupid stuff(heart/mind/limbic system/hormones/lalala). It makes us hold on to bad relationships, it makes a diabetic want sweets, it makes us put the alarm on snooze for the fifth time when we were supposed to be at work ...
