A win for Anya, A loss for humanity

I watched the movie Playing for Keeps today.

Not because I'm a Gerard Butler fan, but because Life of Pi costed 600 bucks while this costed half of that and we had time to kill.

So what's the story?
Gerard Butler plays a soccer legend. His young lover is Jessica Beil. They are hopelessly in love, they get married and procreate.
But that is not the story.
The story is that his glory days are over and he screwed things up and didn't give a crap about his wife or son and is back after many years to make amends. But one problem. She is getting married to another guy (James Tupper) and this one has been faithful, dutiful and responsible with her and her son for three whole years without asking for much in return.
Butler wants to show that he has finally become an adult so takes up a job as a soccer coach for the soccer team that his 9year old son plays in. This way he can be closer to his son(who doesn't remember him much). All the soccer moms, divorced or otherwise, hit on him and he doesn't seem too put out by it. He is immature and a whore of sorts but, but, but is of course still in love with his ex-wife. Ex-wife  forgives all his past indiscretions and is ready to take him into her and her sons life in a jiffy. Yippee!
I feel bad for the other guy. It's only the good ones that get dumped. I think that is one of the reasons why I didn't like the movie.
Look at him..so happy...with no idea of what destiny holds for him.

How was it?
The story was so-so
We missed the first the first ten minutes of the movie getting popcorn. Even if I had come for the last ten minutes of the movie, I would have known the entire story. The tragedy is that they had such a brilliant cast (along with the main guys they had Catherine Zeta-Jones and Uma Thurman) and they just wasted them.
I liked the kid (NoahLomax). He had the cutest freckles and acted well.Predictable but not too terrible The Pepsi I had started a bout of cough. And while I was watching it and sipping my Pepsi and coughing, I text Anya saying I'm watching a Gerard Butler Movie. She despises him and his accent.
She always gives me a hard time for thinking he is a good actor. It is just so hard sometimes.
Within no time she tells me that it has a 2% rating on rotten tomatoes. Does this color my perception? Maybe. I am quite easily influenced you see.
Would it be a wise decision to spend a portion of your income on this movie?
As an answer,I would like to quote Anya's text:
You could have done something else
you could have

Anya is a lover of Benedict Cucumber-batch and Phil Dunphy.
She has an Elmo doll which I will seize after she enters another life and wishes to dominate the world.
