I am an over-sized teeshirt

I went to Pavilion mall a few days back.It is a place right out of a fairy tale. More truthfully, it is right out of a fashion magazine. A monument dedicated to fashion. Gucci to your left and Prada to your right. The heart flutters at the clothes, bags, shoes put on display. It is the building of the expensive. It is where angry rich wives come to teach their husbands a lesson. I assume that the buyers and angry wives are few and far between. I could smell the lack of money in the tills because the place is too darn expensive to buy anything. Also cheap knock-offs are readily available.

Then I saw this.

There was only one thing I could think of. There was only one thing I wished I had. A crossisant.

Doing exactly the same thing that Hepburn did. Fifty years later. At an Asian outlet.

Talking of Audrey Hepburn,Yesterday I watched My Fair Lady.
It is a movie about a girl learning to speak proper english. Then she falls in love with her teacher.

The thing about old movies is, some people think of them as classics and others think of them as,well, old.
This movie is a classic. It is funny and musically. Though the movie is old, you can still relate to it.It is a really funny movie and should be on your movie watching list.
MFL is more about class differences than it is about love and english. It talks about the separation of class because of language.
The speak the same language and yet they don't. Sure there is a love story involved but this movie is so much more than just a love story and a phonetics class.
A person can point out your origins from the way you talk. Think of the difference between the english your teacher talks to you with and the butler english of auto drivers. Sometimes teachers speak in butler english but other than those exceptions, there is a distinctiveness between the two ways in which the language is spoken. The way they speak affects the way you treat them.
It is a movie where one second everyone will be talking normally and the next second everyone bursts into song. I dont like that. Except if it is in bollywood.
If you, like me, aren't a fan of musicals or whatever the hell this is, you'll still like it. it is a good plot.
It is a really long movie. It took me three days to finish it. The movie is only three hours long, but I am easily distracted. Despite being so long, it is not boring at all.

The Upper East Siders have something to say about Eliza Doolittle too,
Lets do My Fair Lady Blaire Waldorf Style

The wonders of being rich. They speak another language and live in another world. Breakfast in Italy, Lunch in France. They dress like everyday is a party (and for them it usually is) Casuals probably means wearing one accessory less than they usually do. Being rich does make you happy. It is not about romanticizing the rich but money comes with a lot of perks. The perks are flaunted with cars and clothes. Does what you wear define who you are and were you belong?
Seems like this blogpost has come to a full circle.
